Make sure you solve all your primary quests. Press L to see them.

Ya the two man team thing is ridiculous and is an obvious cap to prevent some form of exploitation... As far as progressing to post searing, you need to finsih up the proper quests and then you will be "ready" to join the fight! But you have to prove yourself worthy by running the academy gauntlet

do you?
I did no such thing to get to the searing... ...I seem to remember just doing some main quests...then Rurik gave me an "elite group" so I went and killed some big glowing boss creature in a cave...and then the searing happened... |

As you get further with the missions, the level cap goes up. So first its 2, then its 4 as you get done with more missions, then its 6, then its 8.
Hope this helped |

You need to take a secondary class before you can get out of pre searing.

You really DON'T HAVE TO make a secondary class do you? In the BWEs it allowed you to just go as one profession if you chose to. IMO, I would rather have a secondary class... I wouldn't leave home without one. But is it a rule now that you have to have a secondary class to get out of Pre-Searing?
~ Having a secondary class gives you plenty of extra options to work with throughout the game and makes your player more viable and valuable as well. Just a thought for those that are curious... |
